Falcons win two at Coast vs. CVC Quad

FRESNO – The Coalinga College women's volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak with a pair of non-conference wins at the Coast Conference vs. Central Valley Conference quad on Friday. The event was hosted by Fresno City College.

The Falcons opened with a 25-16, 26-24, 25-22 sweep of West Valley College and closed out the day's action with a hard-fought 13-25, 25-23, 27-25, 26-24 win in four sets over Hartnell College.

Freshman Aurora Sotelo put together another huge match in the Hartnell victory. She led the Falcons with 22 kills and 19 digs while adding a pair of aces and a block.

Amber Cerny was also solid with 15 kills, 14 digs, and 2 aces. Jenna Vogt totaled 25 assists, 10 digs, 5 kills, and 2 aces while Natalie Walsh had 23 assists and 6 digs. Shianne Davis contributed 9 digs and a block.

Coalinga improved to 8-4 overall with the two wins. The Falcons are back in action on Oct. 1 when they open Central Valley Conference play with a 6 p.m. home match against College of the Sequoias.
