Dan Goich, West Hills Hall of Famer and former NFL player has passed

One of the greats from the history of West Hills College Falcon football has passed. Dan Goich, originally from Chicago, passed away at his home in Las Vegas in March, 2021. Goich was an all-conference defensive lineman for the 1963 and 1964 Falcons. He led the 1964 team to an 11-1 record and a victory in the Lions Bowl where he was named defensive MVP. After playing for the University of California Golden Bears in 1965 and 1966, Goich was selected as the 121st player taken in the 1966 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons as a defensive tackle in the NFL for the Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, and New York Giants.

Goich was inducted into the West Hills College Coalinga Hall of Fame in 1998 for his gridiron excellence. The 1964 Falcon football team, which Goich led to the Lions Bowl victory, was also inducted into the West Hills Hall of Fame. Following his NFL career, Goich became a teacher at Rancho High School in Las Vegas from which he retired in 2010.
