
FAQ's
When do we practice?
Practice is scheduled daily (Monday through Friday) from 1-4 pm. So make sure you schedule your classes so that you are out of class during that time. Morning or evening/night classes are best.
What days do we play?
Most matches are scheduled on Wednesday and Friday nights. There are also a few Saturday tournaments.
What do I need to bring with me when I start?
When you first arrive, you will need to have the following items:
- Social Security Card
- Medical Insurance Card
- Volleyball shoes

The Application for Admission is free. If you have not already applied, you may do so here. When you are finished with the application, there will be a link to take you to the free application for financial aid (FAFSA).
This is a must! Even if you know that you do not qualify! NO financial assistance can be given unless the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is completed. This is the most time consuming step, but perhaps the most important! Here's how to apply:

- The FAFSA will ask that you provide them the code for the school you are applying. Enter 001176
- Get a PIN from the U.S. Dept of Education at www.pin.ed.gov/appinstr.htm (Both the you AND a parent need to get your own PINs)
You may take a placement test at any community college. However, to find out about placement tests through West Hills click here. The score from that test will allow our advising staff to accurately place you in the appropriate math and/or English class. You do not have to take a placement test if you have taken, or will take, the SAT or ACT. The counselors can use your SAT or ACT scores as long as you have your high school transcripts.
There are three options for students: 1) live at home and commute, 2) live off campus (i.e. apartment), or 3) live on campus. What Classes To Take All athletes must be enrolled in at least 12 units during the season. Consult the Schedule of Classes to see what is available. The courses you need to take specifically for volleyball are listed below.

Once you have chosen the classes you need, register for classes here, go to and click on the link labeled “MyWestHills”, log in and simply follow the instructions.

You have a choice of taking your physical examination at home before you arrive, or you can have it done when you get here. If you do it here, it will be $15. If you do it at home, you will need to print the physical exam form here. |
