Seven Falcons Earn All-CVC Honors

The Central Valley Conference volleyball head coaches met on Tuesday in Visalia and selected the 2018 all-conference players. 

WHCC had a school-record seven Falcons earn All-CVC honors, including First Team member freshman OH Andrea Lopez, and Second Team picks freshman libero Emilee Degunya and freshman OH Mia Bouttavong.

Lopez led the Falcons with 308 kills during her rookie season, and ranked third in the CVC with 3.80 kills per set. She was one of only four CVC players to register more than 300 kills and 200 digs (243).

Degunya collected 437 digs on the season to rank second in the conference - and eighth in the state. Bouttavong ranked second on the team in kills (178) and total blocks (27).

Four WHCC players earned Honorable Mention: sophomore setter Taylor Ramos, freshman setter Isabella Galang, sophomore DS Carissa Plascencia, and freshman MB Magali Renteria.

Ramos (399 assists) and Galang (370) paced the team's 6-2 offense - as they ranked ninth and tenth, respectively, among the CVC leaders.

The Falcons finished the season with a three-match winning streak and a 6-3 overall record at home.
