After two decorated years at West Hills College Coalinga, outside hitter Teonia "Tee" Gonzales announced that she has accepted a scholarship offer from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, to continue her academic and volleyball career.
Gonzales will transfer to the NCAA institution this summer, in preparation for the 2017 season.
She was a sophomore captain for the Falcons, honorable mention All-Central Valley Conference - and carried her leadership skills across the campus as well.
Gonzales was part of the ASB senate, the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and a residence hall student assistant.
In March of 2017, she was selected California Community College Counselors/Advisors Association for Athletics 2016-17 Female Student-Athlete of the Year - and participated in the CCCAA Convention as a student speaker.
She was also named 2016-17 WHCC Most Inspirational Athlete, and earned a scholarship from the Coalinga Chamber of Commerce.
"Tee has been a great ambassador for not only West Hills volleyball, but also the athletic department, college and community," said head coach Jeff Wanderer.
"We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and the many awards are well-deserved. We know she will continue to excel in Connecticut and we look foward to following the rest of her career."
