Seven Falcons Honored at Conclusion of Season

After concluding the 2016 softball season, six Falcon players received All-Conference nominations.  Alyssa d'Artenay, Ashley Brown, Valerie Romero, Mackenzie Jones, Chase Martinez, and Holly Stafford received awards in three categories, First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention.  Along with these All-Conference winners, the Falcons were honored to receive two Academic All State Awards for sophomores Ashley Brown and Clarissa Caposino.

Clarissa Caposino received Academic All State for Northern California with a 3.59 GPA. The second Academic All State for Northern California was Ashley Brown with a 3.9 GPA. The Falcon Family is honored to have these two scholar athletes apart of the program for two years.

Ashley Brown received First Team All-Conference after completing her sophomore season as the starting shortstop.  Brownie ended the season batting .304 with a slugging percentage over .400. 

Valerie Romero received Second Team All-Conference after completing her sophomore season as the starting second baseman.  Romero ended the season as the lead-off batter for the Falcons. She led the team in runs scored and the most walks. Romero's on base percentage was over .400.

Holly Stafford received Second Team All-Conference after completing her freshman season as the starting centerfielder. Stafford led the outfield with 78 put outs and 9 assists.  Stafford will return to the Falcon Family next season.

Mackenzie Jones received CVC Honorable Mention after completing her freshman season as the starting third baseman. Jones led the team with the most hits this season, and finished the season in the number four spot.  Jones will return to the Falcon Family next season.

Alyssa d'Artenay received CVC Honorable Mention after completing her sophomore season as the starting catcher. d'Artenay played the majority of her freshman season and all of her sophomore season behind the plate.  d'Artenay finished with the third highest fielding percentage and had a gun behind the plate.
Chase Martinez received CVC Honorable Mention after completing her freshman season as a utility player.  Martinez made appearances on the mound, at first, and even behind the plate.  Martinez lead the Falcons with a .311 batting average along with hits and doubles.  Martinez will return to the Falcon Family next season.

The Falcon Family is extremely excited for these athletes and hope next year will be a successful season.
