WHCC Falcons falls behind in sixth inning in 9-7 loss to Porterville

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as WHCC Falcons fell to Porterville 9-7 in seven innings on Thursday.

Ashley Brown racked up two RBIs on three hits for WHCC Falcons. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Even though Sophia Chamberlain allowed seven runs over seven innings she still recorded the victory. Chamberlain struck out one, walked four and gave up 11 hits.

Hannah Martell took the loss for WHCC Falcons. She allowed seven runs in three innings, walked none and struck out one.

The bottom of the third saw Porterville take an early lead, 2-0. Danielle Jimenez singled to ignite Porterville's offense. Jayme Knauer singled, bringing home Briana Bamber.

The lead stayed with Porterville after the sixth, when it scored seven runs on two errors, a sacrifice fly by Isabel Romero, and four singles.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped WHCC Falcons close its deficit to 9-6. An RBI single by Alex Lovett and an RBI single by Valerie Romerotriggered WHCC Falcons' comeback. But, Chamberlain got Alyssa D'Artenayto ground out to end the game.
