Hannah Martell was strong at the plate and in the circle in carrying WHCC Falcons to a 8-0 victory over Porterville on Thursday.
Martell was solid at the plate for WHCC Falcons. Martell went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Martell brought the heat against Porterville during her outing. Porterville managed just one hit off of the WHCC Falcons' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during her six innings of work.
The biggest inning for WHCC Falcons was the sixth. In the inning WHCC Falcons scored five runs. WHCC Falcons scored in the sixth on an error, a hit by pitch, a groundout by Mackenzie Jones, and a two-run single by Chase Martinez.
Hannah Grimes was charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out one.
WHCC Falcons never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Jones.
After posting one run in the third, WHCC Falcons again scored one in the fourth. In the third, WHCC Falcons scored on an RBI single by Martinez, plating Felicia Remulla.
