Fall Rodeo Update

Fall Rodeo Update

The West Hills College Coalinga men's and women's rodeo teams enjoyed a successful weekend at Feather River College and Lassen College competitions (Sept. 30-Oct. 1).

The men's team was the high point team at the Feather River event, led by the All-Around Champion Cowboy, Edgar Machado (photo) and Reserve All-Around Cowboy Brushton Minton – while Jacob Lees was the Bareback Bronc Riding Champion at both events.

The men's team had a solid performance at Lassen College as well.

The women's team was able to accumulate a good point total with solid performances by Cassidy Barnes, Cierra Hubbard, and Cheyenne Horner.

Amanda Barnard was the Breakaway Roping Champion at the Lassen College Rodeo.

Overall, after the first two rodeos of the year, the WHCC men's team is in second place in the West Coast Region with 1,615 points; the women's team is in the third spot in the region with 550 points.

The Falcons hope to keep the momentum, as they host their next rodeo event, Nov. 3-5, at the WHCC Rodeo Arena.
