Uribe Finds a New Home; Commits to Holy Names University

Two-year starter Alante Uribe has committed to Division II Holy Names University, which is in the East Bay of California.

Alante had mulitiple NAIA offers, but really wanted to play at the Division II level. After transferring from Azusa Pacific his freshman year, Alante surprised the coaching staff and became an everyday player right from the start.

Though he's a natural first baseman, he was asked to play outfield on several occasions, and Uribe proved to be very good out there too.

In two seasons at West Hills, Alante scored 53 runs, had 91 hits, 25 doubles, 64 RBI's, 4 Home Runs, 5 Stolen Bases, had a .315 career batting average and a .400 on base percentage. Alante is also a 4.0 GPA student-athlete and earned Academic All-American honors this past season.

He ended his WHCC career as an Academic & Athletic Achievement Award recipient.
