Justin Bailey joined the Falcon staff of Head Coach Cal Tincher at the start of fall season in 2009

and coaches the team’s wide receivers/kickers. He also assists with special teams and serves

as the Recruiting Coordinator/Equipment Coordinator/Film Editor Coordinator.

He coached 2009 All-Conference wide receiver Montel Gamble, who signed with Norfolk State

in Virginia.


Bailey coached wide receivers and kickers at the Doane College in Nebraska for one year as a

full-time coach. The Columbus, Nebraska, native is a 2007 graduate of Doane College where

he played wide receiver and kicker.

Bailey then earned his bachelor degree of Science emphasis in Sport Management and

is working on his masters degree in Kinesiology while also assisting with the football team.

  • 1974-1978 Maryville College…graduated cum laude; President of Junior and Senior Class; Authored “The Veer Passing Attack” selected for permanent placement in College Library. 
  • 1978-1979 Carson-Newman College…Offense set 24 game and season offensive records. 
  • 1980-1981 University of Richmond…Graduate assistant with full-time recruiting and coaching status
  • 1982-1985 Texas-El Paso…In four years, 10 different Running Backs had 17-100 yard rushing games. 
  • 1986-1991 Navarro Junior College…. Valley of the Sun Bowl (1987); Jayhawk Bowl (1988); Coca-Cola® Mid-America Bowl (1989) – NATIONAL CHAMPIONS; Dixie Rotary Bowl (1991). 
  • 1992-1995 Jones County Junior College…South State Champs (1993); Texas Shrine Bowl (1993); State and Region Coach of the Year in Golf (State and Region 23 Champions, 1993); Clinician at AFCA National Convention (1994). 
  • 1996-2002 Gulf Coast Community College… Four All-American Scholar/Athlete Recipients. Inherited program with less than 10% completers, progressing to 100% completers in last two years. 
  • 2002-2007 Sul Ross State University… ASC Co-Coach of the Year (2006); D3 Football Region Coach of the Year (2006).

  • Coach Wright is married to Anita who works part-time in the West Hills Community College Grants Department. They have two daughters; Stephanie is a sophomore at Stanford University and Synthia who is a junior at Coalinga High School. He has 32 years of coaching; 26 years of teaching; 17 years at the junior college level.
