Nick Palacios (top left) won 4 games on the mound for the Falcons in 2012. Jesse Gonzalez (top right) hit .323 and finished with 43 hits and 25 walks.  Palacios returns for the 2013 season and is poised for another big year.

Nate Achelpohl (top left) and Ian Horne (top right) were both CCCBCA Academic All-Americans.  West Hills was 1 of 2 teams (out of 86 schools) to place two members on the 19-man squad.  Achelpohl hit .276 (34-123) and started 35 of 36 games at shortstop, while Horne finished the year with an incredible .370 average (37-100).  His 10 doubles and 33 RBI led the team.  Achelpohl is now playing at Doane College (NE) and Horne is at NCAA Division I Norfolk State (VA).

Jacob Phillips (top left) and Kevin Richards (top right) both return to the mound in 2013.  Phillips, who was part of two CIF-CS Championship teams at Washington Union HS, finished the year with 36 innings of work and a 3.25 ERA.  His best performance came in the last game of the year, when he recorded a 9-inning complete game victory in a 10-1 win over Taft.
