Coach Padgett comes to West Hills after two successful coaching stints at local valley high schools.  Padgett played his collegiate ball at College of the Sequoias and Fresno Pacific University, where he started at second base during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

During the 2011 season, Padgett took over the head coaching position at Fresno Christian High School, which had been struggling for  many years.  After starting off slow, Padgett led the Eagles to a 15-6 finish in the final 21 games and the school's first ever visit to the CIF-CS Division V Championship Game.

During the 2009 and 2010 seasons, Padgett was the head assistant coach at Memorial High School, where he assisted former big-leaguer Pete Dalena.  As infield coach, Padgett helped Memorial to the 2009 NYL Championship and an appearance in the CIF-CS Division II Championship Game.  Padgett coached several players (Trevor Ellison, Lucas DiCiccio, Brennen Jacobsen) who have moved on to NCAA baseball.

During his playing career, the gritty second basemen found a spot on Fresno Pacific's roster as a scholarship player.  He started for two seasons and helped FPU to the NAIA playoffs in 2008.  The regional was played at Azusa Pacific University, where the Sunbirds finally bowed out to Concordia University (Irvine, CA).  During that 2008 season, Padgett started 37 games, hit .311 (10 doubles, 1 homerun), with 35 hits, 10 runs, and 21 RBI.  During his 40 total games, Padgett amassed a .989 fielding percentage with only two errors on the year.

A Lemoore native, Padgett graduated from Lemoore High School in 2003. Padgett still lives in Lemoore and is currently finishing his degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University.

Kurt Walker

Coach Walker comes to West Hills with several years of big league experience and a Hall of Fame career at Fresno State University.  Coach Walker will serve as the team's pitching coach.

After two years at Fresno City College, Coach Walker went on to star at Fresno State (1982 - 83) where he played for legendary coach Bob Bennett.  While at FSU, Walker put together an amazing 20-4 record over his two seasons.  For his accomplishments, he was inducted into the Fresno State Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.

His career at Fresno State was enough to land him a contract with the Chicago White Sox, as they drafted him in the 24th round in the summer of 1983.  His numbers were impressive in each of his six minor league seasons as he finished his career with a mark 43-28 with a 3.08 ERA.  His most impressive seasons came in 1984 and '85.  In '84, he was a Midwest League (Class A) All-Star for Appleton, WI while compiling a 9-1 record and a 1.96 ERA.  The following year, he was an Eastern League (AA) All-Star with Glens Falls, NY as he rang up a 10-6 record and a 4.26 ERA.

Walker rounded out his minor league career in the Minnesota Twins' organization (in 1987, he posted a 5-2 record with a 0.98 ERA for the Visalia Oaks) and the California Angels' organization (1988-89), with whom he made it as far as AAA.

Coach Walker lives in Madera with his wife Donna.  They have three children: Kyle (24) and twin daughters Kasey and Kayla (20).
